It maps complex impedance (resistance and reactance) or admittance values onto a polar coordinate chart, featuring concentric resistance circles and reactance arcs, to design matching networks, analyze reflection, and optimize power transfer in high-frequency circuits. 

Hit the nail on the head when I was trying to visualize radiance in general.
